Discuss BS 7671 max surface temperature under fault condition ??? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Ian, why the dumb ratings on the posts above? The replies seem pretty helpful to me.
Ask spin as he’s practically went through all my posts and give a dumb rating because he’s spit his dummy out.
He’s done that before to another member so enough said.
So I started to retaliate but thought better.
Petulant I know.
He’s now ignored so I apologise if I’ve come over a bit of an idiot.
He’s not worth it

You reap what you sow.

Thats what I thought, although as mentioned earlier I would like to locate the driver on an aluminium heat sink away from combustible material in free air.
Osram are now looking into the issue for me.
Thanks.

My take is - the regulation requires less than 115C during a fault and since the manufacturer does not warrant this, you become responsible for achieving compliance. I would choose a driver that included the symbol, one less thing to worry about :) .

The intended use is for the light panels, 10-off to be installed into a temporary building, they can all be controlled from one remote, dimmed and temperature (colour) changed. Finding a compliant driver to do this is really quite difficult.
