I must say, I would decline personal use of the van and leave it at the place of business and drive in my own vehicle. As I have six in the family to drive around the van would be no use to me. The liability unacceptable.
 
If your company is implying that their van is not insured outside your house, just ensure you get their van back to the office within working hour's, they will soon get fed up with the reduction in productivity due to you working less.
