Company kit and tools stolen

If it's covered everywhere but outside your house what happens if you happen to be doing a job next door and the tools get nicked ?

Absolutely not. My boss is excellent. He does make me take my tools in every night but he bought them all for me so I'm happy with that.



I may be biased being self employed though.

If your happy to do that then it's fine but I'm saying in my opinion its asking too much of a employee.

I must say, I would decline personal use of the van and leave it at the place of business and drive in my own vehicle. As I have six in the family to drive around the van would be no use to me. The liability unacceptable.

If your company is implying that their van is not insured outside your house, just ensure you get their van back to the office within working hour's, they will soon get fed up with the reduction in productivity due to you working less.
