Hi. I’m new to the Forum and not sure I’m in the right place to ask this. I’m an instrument tech who is doing my second resit for EX04 inspection after passing the other module parts of the compex. I’m looking for any advice on getting through this, it’s not that I don’t know the theory but I think I’m too slow/ over cautious and not getting enough written down on the sheet in the allotted time.

Any help or tips would be useful, as I’m down the road as far as my company is concerned if I fail again. First time I failed on the visual part and passed the detailed and close and the second time managed to completely flip it and pass the visual part and failed the detailed and close!

Hi Sorry to hear you failed. Its certainly a knock to your confidence when that happens Its interesting that you have passed both parts separately, so you know your stuff. The best advice is I could give is go through the exam and pick out the easy/quick answers first, flag the rest, and go back round again and possibly a third time to do the more time consuming parts. Time management is often an under rated skill but well worth practicing in all parts of your life.

Good luck with it!
