Discuss Consumer unit replacement in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Can anyone give me a list of things from an EICR that might mean that your consumer unit might need replacing
? is this a serious question? if so please come back and explain why you asked this and maybe we can try to assist you, that said, I am concerned you are in one of two camps. 1, you want to justify replacing a DB, or 2, you have been told yours needs replacing and you are not sure.

I tend to agree with the above posts, however I think I remember that you are early on in your career, so may be attempting to learn, the assessment for a CU change is more than an EICR result and to not realise this indicates a lack of awareness.
However I did go through the EICR observations for distribution boards and came up with the following, if the observation was coded for danger would the consumer unit need changing?
Consumer Unit(s) / Distribution boards

Protective devices correctly labelled & identified (514.8,514.9.1) ) – No, repair
RCD quarterly test notice present locally (514.12.2) ) – No
Mixed cable colour warning notice present locally (514.14) – No
Alternative supply warning notice present locally (514.15) – No
Other required labeling present (specify) (S.514) – No
Protective Devices & bases of correct type & rating, no signs of thermal damage or arcing (421.1.3) – possibly

RCD/RCBO(s) provided for fault protection (411.4.9,411.5.2,531.2) No, unless PDs no longer available
RCD/RCBO(s) provided for additional protection (411.3.3,415.1) No, unless PDs no longer available
SPD device(s) functional (if present) – No
