The joys of the wonderful American distribution system.

For “wonderful” read total lash up, it has to be one of the most dangerous systems in the world.

I’ve only ever got my hands on a centre grounded 480V system once. Can’t say I was too impressed with it and was trying to get it to comply with UK standards.
I gave up with that idea and phoned a company I used to work for and borrowed a 150KVA 433/500V Yyn transformer for a week. Fortunately they were one of our suppliers and happily lent it to us.

It was an odd beast I’d had made about 25 years before when changing over supplies to a plant. The secondary could be either voltage, the tappings gave it a 10% voltage adjustment.

Btw electrician... corner grounded deltas don't have a wild leg.... tht would be a center taped delta.....

It could be taped without being tapped. Or maybe the tapping is taped. Take a tip: you can't top a well taped tapping.

The funny thing is real hvac techs can easily transition to electrical work...... i know what problem and its alrdy been fixed to code i electricians are dumber than a box of rocks light bulb changers.... get a life better yet get a technical trade tht actually requires analytical skill...
