Discuss Do you have to have a service supplier? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
If a property is energised and metering equipment is still onsite, standing charge still applies.Approach OFGEM, I can't see it being legal to charge for a service not being used just because the equipment is present.
Can't see Taylor Wimpey etc being charged by supplier to merely have metering equipment present, same with meters.
Try changing to ebico.As above,
This is a vacant premises where the supplier is charging monthly even though no electricity is needed. They are refusing to cancel the supply.
Is there a requirement to maintain a supplier on a connection, even if it's not in use?
Many Thanks all
