This fuse box is in the garage of my new house, does anybody know anything about it or the age of this item, I'm not sure how safe it is and in what condition the electrics are in there, so I have left it switched off, it comes straight from the electricity meter and goes to a socket, light switch and a fused spur for the outside light.

Thank you
Leo

Sorry Leo never read your post fully I agree with Telectrix get an EICR done and see what transpires from the inspection,

"Straight from the meter"? Does that mean it has its own supply, or is the house supply split through Henley blocks? Can that fuseboard be isolated if you do go ahead to change it Is that a pair of 16mm tails? Earth wire anywhere?
EICR definitely, nice wee job for someone
