then you'll need an electrician to test and ID the cables in order to wire it up correctly. it's only an hour's work. whereabouts are you. one of us may be close.

the cable in the common is probably the switched L to the light, but guessing is not the solution. your electrician will suss it out in a few minutes.
 
Its a 2way light switch, (surely the red wire in the common terminal is more likely the live feed). I'd be interested to know if there is just 1 light fitting and 1 switch in the room or does it have 2 light switches controling 1 light? or more.
 
all depends on how it's been wired. 1 method is to feed the L into C of switch 1 and then the L out is from C of switch2. 2nd method is to feed the Lin to L1 or L2 of switch 1 and the Lout from L2 or L1. both methods are in use. as i said. a spark will suss it in minutes.
