Just throwing it out there, but some may argue that if you run a main bonding conductor to your water, cut it and join your water and gas together, technically that's supplementary bonding

i've never heard anyone try and argue that garbage.
and it would be a very short argument if they did.

Bad practice IMO, i would apply a C2 too. Stick to your guns. Or you will end up in spurs Yeeee Haaaaaa ))

542.4.1 In every installation a MET shall be provided to connect the following to the earthing conductor -
(ii) The protective bonding conductor.

544.1.2 The main equipotential bonding connection to any gas, water or other service shall be made as near as practicable to the point of entry of that service into the premises ...

544.1.1 ... not less than 6mm² ...

That's both ends and size.

Not much room for argument.
