Discuss Eicr ..what code would you give in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Well it kind of depends on what size the MCB is in the main CU that is being used to supply power to the shed, and also the size of the cable being used for the sockets and lights in the shed?

It's being supplied directly from the Main Switch output terminals I think.

there's no OCPD in main CU for the 6mm. that's the query. I'd give it a C2.

Oh I see. I thought he meant it was being fed from the main switch in the garage CU, but re-reading it I think you guys are right. C2.

That isn't really the way to look at it. You also have to consider erection methods and the suitability of its means of connection.

I was thinking c2 but could go with c3 as max the circuit would pull is 38a (cu in shed has 32a and 6 a mcb) 6mm swa more than capable of 38a
that's as maybe, but what about a fault on the SWA?

C2, but the amount of noise I would make about it would depend on the loop impedance and the size of the bullet 'protecting' it. One coud anticipate some nasty scenarios if the cable gets damaged near the shed end if the impedance is too high.
