Hello,
I left the British Army last year. I was in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as an Armourer for 5 years. My trade included repairing and inspecting weapons. I completed a tour of Afghanistan. After leaving I decided to use my savings to go to college once a week to do the City and Guilds 2330 Electrical Installation Level 2. I plan to be doing the Level 3 after.
Obviously I need experience in the trade. The most I've been able to do is work as a labourer on sites. Since doing it I've never worked with any electricians and there's hardly any labouring jobs as it is (especially as I can't work the day I'm at college). I've been trying to find jobs as an Electrician's Mate but I'm having no luck.
My questions are:
Thank you in advance for any help,
Fabian.

My questions are:
- Do you know of any jobs that require an Electrician's Mate in Hampshire/Surrey area (I'm living in Aldershot)?
- What are the best websites to search jobs for someone looking to become an Electrician's Mate?
- Have I wasted my time/money doing this course without a job set up?
Thank you in advance for any help,
Fabian.
