What are those cables in capping above the door? They are not in a safe zone and non-compliant if mains voltage, unless they only come down 150mm..
that's a 9" cinder/concrete block. add the timber ad the drop is about a foot. ( that's 300millipededs for the young sprogs).
 
uless it's an outside lightover the door. that would make sense.
 
Hole through wall should have been drilled upwards at an angle from the outside, so that it is more than 50mm deep inside when out of the safe zone.
That SWA looks plenty long enough in the pic. to reach across the floor and up the wall to a CU at the correct height. Are you sure it's not long enough?
 
As per Mike, SWA channelled across floor and CU located so that the door won't bang into it.

If you put it above the door it's not very accessible if anything ever trips.
