I have been asked to change alot of old twin 6ft flourescent fittings in some units, twin 70watts. The new ones will be led, just wondering what the equivalent would be to give off the same brightness. I've seen some 6ft led twins that say 70watts but won't that be to bright as they will be led.

The output for a 70w tube is variable between 6000 and 6500 lumen.

"Watts" and "Wattage" have got to be amongst the most misunderstood terms as far as joe public goes. How many people out there believe that sound is also measured in watts... this misconception no doubt aided by the marketing departments of car audio systems...

Is there a rule of thumb in terms of max wattage on 1.5mm cable
Or how do you work out the inrush current? What if the inrush current surpasses the max current rating of the fixed wiring? Is this ok because it's only starting current?

Best you research inrush currents ............... this is VERY different to calculating the load on the circuit.

Would this imply that a twin fittings output would be 12,000 -13,000 lumens in total then, 6000-6500 per lamp?
