Hey all, I have a tricky elderly customer who needs very old and defective wall mounted lights replaced or repaired if possible. Thing is they are BC lamp holders set off a mount of a black arm screwed to wall with an approx 200mm / 8" glass sphere on top which is tinted/smoked glass.

I have found some stainless fittings with a white frosted globe from CEF but lady wants them smoked and probably not glass due to wind damaging them or similar. Found an outlet in U.S. that sells polycarbonate and acrylic globes and smoked too with flange or without for fitting. Anyone else know anywhere not so far away as chances are they will be smashed before getting here !

Also she has a really old looking pair of elcb's fed from a C50 TP d/b and covering the external lighting, I don't think she even needs them on lighting there and one is defective anyway.

Thinking she needs an EICR as last test was at installation in Oct 1985 and lots been played with since by looks of it and outside light fittings are 30 yrs old also so I am trying to tell her she may well find most need replaced if required.

Hi,

Just had a google and came up with 'Lighting superstore', they seem to have a large range of external lighting, but the smoked glass variety are quite pricey. May be worth a look.

Regards.

Generally the lighting superstore are about 50% more expensive than other sites.
QVS will sell good stuff and they have an eclectic range but do not expect high quality.
You could try castlegate lights or just buy a clear one and buy some smoke window tint spray!!
