Discuss Help me qualify..am I on the right course? in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

Perhaps you can explain the statement made on this college website site then, that states this qualification does not qualify you to become an electrician??

I can't see how an EAL qualification can be taken seriously, the examinations are ''Open Book''!! As such, they they can't quantify by means of examination, how much knowledge you have actually assimilated/retained, as you can just look it up in book(s) you have taken into the examination room!!

My mistake, should have put 2357 for the diploma and have updated post above. The 2397 is a domestic qual. City & Guilds 2357/EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems & Equipment ( Buildings, Structures and the Environment) QCF Knowledge Units Year One of Three (Day Release Monday Programme)-Compare the Course

I agree, I believe the tech part can be completed on its own (2365) and the onsite can be done later when they get a job / experience.

That's what the tutors tell us. Although the course itself does have practical assessments and practical practice sessions to teach you the physical aspect of electrical wiring..cheers

exactly the same as the 2330 and 2356 were

the 2330 could be done without working, i know i did it

Hi shanky, how did you go about the on site assessment after the course? I'm confused, I know finding an electrical employer is possibly part of it but after that I dunno how to go about anything cheers

basically you end up doing an aprentaship but without day release.

so you end up doing your nvq then, talk to your local college about it and they will explain
