Ok. I'll test as described. Then if over 1M ohm. I'll issue the cert .But make note in the comments with ref to the ESC guide.Ill advise that the fittings need to be changed or a cpc provided for which i'm happy to quote for..
And yes a [proper sparky hookd up the metal fittings..probably the same one who told the cust in the past when the tails were smoking as their screw down clasp had become loose to leave everything on so he could find the fault easily!

WHOA THERE.

Do NOT follow anything I have said. I was very clear to say it's only my interpretation and thus not definitive in any way. Read the ESC guidance and decide yourself. And note particularly the stuff about must not be in special location/outdoors, must not be in location with conducting floor, must not be where earthed metal or extraneous conductive parts simultaneously accessible. The ESC is clear that you should push for CPCs to be installed.

And the definitive document remains BS7671.

Just to note the deviations box is not for putting things down which dont comply such as class 1 with no cpc. Instead this for where you havent followed BS7671 but have offered the same level safety etc.
