hi i'm taking my am2 soon and was wondering on the schedule of inspection does cat 5 cable have could under selv and what is electrical seperation : Provided for one item of current using equipment?

electrical separation is isolation from mains . e.g.shaver socket. not to be confused with segregation, where you put elv cables such as cat5, phone, alarm etc. in separate trunking or compartment or separate holes in joists.

"more than one" is very rare so will be "n/a" and "one item" as telectrix says could be a shaver socket, basically any item involving a transformer. More relevant to you perhaps is starter motors can be an example of electrical separation.

...and swa is not reinforced insulation!

yeah mate as mine told me it was and even got us to write armoured at side of reinforced box i the sample schedule of inspections in bs7671

reinforced insulation can be a single layer or multiple layer of insulation is what i was lead to believe

i am still going to ask when i call in there as soon as i can to see what his take is and why
