Just looked at a mates alarm panel that was installed 2 years ago but has been defaulting randomly now and again.

I found that in the FCU
live->brown, neutral->blue.
In the alarm panel
live->blue, neutral->brown.

This likely to of caused the complications with the alarm panel?

when you say defaulting do you mean it'd reverting to factory settings? if so it's probably an optima and the battery is probably seeming pregnant.

If the panel keeps defaulting itself then that's a knackered panel regardless of the mains connections.

I would make sure they're connected right on your new panel though!
