Got myself a tamper fault on intruder alarm I installed on a refurb job I have been doing
is only my 2nd wired system I have installed and had no issues on my 1st one! so would appriaciate any insights.....

system is: Accenta Mini G4 Alarm Panel + LCD Keypad - 8SP399A - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TSACMG4.html
with 6x 12m x 17m 12v PIR Pet Immune (36kg) c/w Bracket - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TSIS312B.html PIRS
and 1x Surface Door Contact - 68mm x 15mm x 13mm - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TS012.html DC
and 1x Honeywell ActiveGuard External Sounder - Intellisense - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TSAG6.html SOUNDER

green+yellow connected to the 2x tamps terminals in each PIR
green+yellow twisted together under screw at door contact
green+yellow connected to the 2x tamps terminals in ext sounder
green+yellow connected to the 2x tamps terminals in keypad

with the 9x cables that run back to the main panel- the green connected to the next yellow etc and then the last green and yellow connected in tamp terminals in the panel

all springs/screws are compressed tight

any tips or likely damaged cable!!?

Spring on bell box not making contact with wall?
I did pay extra attention when fixing the ext bell to make sure it clicked
Also to silence the tamper- by going into engineer mode...then when I unscrewed the bell cover- it then sounded- guessing setting it to tamper again- so guessing it was not the bell originally setting it into tamper

-that made sense in my head lol

Disconnect a device at a time from the global tamper until you find the problem. Do youself a favour and use something that can be wired EOL in the future......As it will tell you what zone/device the tamper fault is on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the keypad and bell box have there own tamper terminals, so if you've daisy chained their tampers with the rest, the tampers for them will be open on the panel.

been out to a texecom panel today. hate them. nowhere in the manual does it tell you the factory default codes. was buggering about for an hour trying to change codes.

Just try linking them out one at s time and see which one clears it, I always go scantronic, easy to install and a lot better in my view than other alarm systems

Texecom manual clearly states how to default factory settings, with 2 methods.

Tamper faults need to be located, 1 with cables in still terminated link out bell tamper. if clears its the bell tamper switch. 2 link out global tamper if clears link out each device one at a time till fault is found. 90 % of faults are bell tamper switches

Is this tamper issue sorted now? Ive fitted 4 of these in my past houses and have another sat here to go in current house. The only time ive had a tamper issue was on the bell box wall reed switch. I ended up looping it out, probably a faulty switch.

I cant remember the symptoms (showing tamper etc) now but on my 2nd house after fitting the alarm it would not stop going off. I called Honeywell and they talked me through some testing with a multimeter and it turned out my brand new panel was faulty!
