LED Ceiling light will not fully switch odff

I want to replace my wall dimmer switch with a normal 1 gang one way switch. When I pulled out the dimmer switch three wires came loose (!!!) so I am not sure of their connections.. The dimmer switch had a COM and an L1 connection. The L2 was not available. The new switch has a COM and an L1 and L2 connection and is used only to switch on and off the ceiling LED lights (all in one cover with a dimmer driver). The wires at the wall switch are red, blue, yellow and earth. I connected the red wire to the COM, and the yellow wire to the L1. The blue is not connected. The light now will switch on and off using the wall switch. However, the ceiling LED light has its own small remote controller. My problem is that when I use this remote to switch off the light, the light will not fully switch off. It just dims very very faintly. I wonder if the blue lead should be used, or how do I make sure the remote fully switches off the light?
