Hi all

what gu10s lamps are you guys recommending at the moment to replicate the output of a 50w halogen?
i have fitted a few Eterna 5w surface mount diode lamps recently but they are circa 12 quid.
Got a job on where I need to replace 30 lamps only soon to existing fitting.
want to give the customer good value but also need reliability.

THANKS

I have seen in tool station catalogue, posted through the bloody door, that they are doing retro fit gu10 LEDs for about a fiver, don't know how good they will be but might be worth a look

Megaman MODOs 4.5w

by far the best we have used, reasonably priced too, circa £5.25 +vat each

That good i usually carry a sample, fit one in a room with existing spots and ask the customer to tell me which is the led, not one yet has got it correct, they are that close to the 50w halogen

Sky,
I replaced all of the energy burning halogen GU10's in my home recently and got a good price online from energybulbs.co.uk. Decent quality, fast delivery, big thumbs up! Megaman for the record are a brand that I feel I can trust although they can be a bit pricey compared to some of the other manufacturers out there.

Where do you get these for that price?

there are not many our there that have a direct lumen equivalent of a 50w halogen which I believe is about 500 lumens.

But getting up to about 380 - 400 lumens for a good retro fit.
