Hi, is their a regulation for having an insulated rubber Matt by any 400v main panel. I seem to recall that their is but cannot find what it comes under in regs

There's no regulation or requirement-there's a casual reference in the Memorandum of Guidance on the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 4 (4) 79 on page 15 but again, no requirement.

If the matting is installed, you'll find it's much nicer to sit on when completing your paper work, avoiding a cold, damp concrete floor ;)

Just had a company do a load of eicr's, they have put lack of mats as a code3?
In the quote for remedial is £190 +vat for a mat at every db across 22 sites.........they didn't appreciate the facilities dept giving me all the reports to go through.

As stated not an actual requirement but a useful safety measure never the less. Having access to a safety rubber mat (and gloves) at each site, rather than at each switchboard/panel would be a sensible company policy to follow!!..
