Are maintaince free junction boxes safe to use under floor boards? Will one rated at 32 amps be suitable for use on a ring main? Any brands you recommend?

I exhaust all other avenues before putting maintenance free (MF) junction boxes under floorboards as, put simply, it's never going to be as good as a continuous length of cable. However, sometimes you have to.

I use wagobox http://www.wago.ltd.uk/enclosures/wagobox/ (not wagobox light as these are not MF). Plus they require a cable tie around them in the given slot to be deemed MF. Also they must only be used with correct wago terminals for the given box.

    Don't do it.

You may live to regret it or maybe not.

I didn't realise the light ones were not MF?

What deems a junction box MF? Is it printed on the product?

Yes, the manufacturer will print MF on it, as long as it's not a dodgy brothers fake o_O
