HI all

I have a problem with a mid position valve that wont move into the heating only position after being in the mid position (i.e. when the water and heating are calling, the water turns off and the valve wont move to the heating only position). The wiring is correct and i have verified it against a y plan wiring diagram (unless of course i am wrong), i wonder if anyone has had this problem? Anything that may cause it (apart from a faulty valve)? I take it all mid position valves are wired the same?

99% of the same faults i have been to are a faulty mid position valve
99% of the time you can just replace the head or the motor inside, i always replace the head nowadays

You can test that you have 230v returned from the room stat back to the valve/wiring center and if so then the valve is faulty
In very rare circumstances the ball become detached in the valve and you would then need a plumber to change the mid position valve body

Quick edit

let me know what valve it is as some heads can not be replaced and undoing the screw lets the water out hehe

as long as you have the hot water off connection ie; from the cylinder stat and the time clock you should be ok. try a replacement head on the valve
