hi avery1 need your help i done new rewire and theres proplem with lighting circuit, iinsulation resistance between LN-earth IS 120 useing megger mft1533,and same problem with same circuit getting 48volts between switch wire and earth with switches off...please p;ease help me

if that reading is 120Meg. then it's fine. worry not. now link out L-E at 1 end and measure R1+R2. do the same with N-E. the 48 volts could be due to a broken or poor connection on the cpc.

m or M??????? need to get it right. one is milli ohms, the other is Meg ohms.

120meg ohm?? If so then its fine your allowed 2 ... It's just people have a tendency to write +200meg ohm on the test sheet and people get led to believe that's the minimum.. I'd happily put my tongue on the insulation with that much resistance mate :)
