Any ideas on a system to notify a client if the power trips off? Ideally a call or sms to their mobile. It's to avoided wastage of chilled/frozen foods.

Still need more details ,
a) For a brown out that may stall compressors

b) Timed -- ignore the 1st HOUR

c) Temperature sensitive ( Will tell you if freezer DIES )
and power is still ON !

You need a autodial battery back-up system with more than one alarm input to cover temp rise in fridge, brown out with as mentioned a delay on activation but if the stock is so costly then i would consider a back-up genny with auto-dial warning.

Although this isn't really designed for what you want it would appear that you can make it work Hot Mini GSM SMS Vehicle Car GPS Tracker Tracking Device TK103A Alarm System VG3 | eBay it's £48 plus you will need a 12v transformer and a relay to trigger it.
Basically it's designed for a vehicle alarm/tracking system. So you can set it to use a contact to trigger (maybe a small relay/contactor connected to the critical circuit.) it to send a message to a nominated phone.

Hope that helps to give you some more options?

Something to bear in mind if big money is at risk , cell phone networks have not been 100% of late ! ( depends how unlucky you are )

Some PC service on internet that calls in - could be remotely logged
a bit like web cam etc
