Hi,
I'm new to this forum so hopefully it is in the right section. So I'll get to the point,
basically I live in an upstairs flat and have a garden out the back and to cut the grass I have to run an extension lead to the garden when I cut the grass and if I'm doing any work in there, but the delightful neighbour (NOT!!!) has complained to the council about my lead which is bright blue running along the ground to my garden. It's only there for a few hours at a time but the council have said it needs to be fixed to the pavement with out damaging it which is utterly ridiculous.
so anyway rant over. In my garden I have a Air source heat pump that does the hot water for the property and on a concrete block next to it is an isolator I was wondering if it would be possible to get an electrician to bring a cable out from the isolator to and outdoor socket I could run my mower and other power tools I may need to use, would this be possible?
need some information before I right back to the council about the ridiculous letter they have sent me.
many thanks hopefully someone will know.

Makita do a cordless 18 volt weed eater/grass strimmer if you want an easy life without the confrontation.

Go to your local pet shop and try to get a few mice, male and female. Pair them off and let them do what comes naturally, once the females are with child post them through the letter box when your neighbour is out.
If you don't want mice, smear their door handles with dog poo
That'll teach them not to screw with you.

so while you're mowing, stick the lead to the pavement with a few bits of blu-tac. oh. and superglue the neighbour's front door lock.

Well they are all things I've contemplated. The woman is just an utter jobs worth and moans about everything.
so on a serious note would it be possible to have a socket out of the isolator which controls the heat pump or not?
thanks

It may well be possible. Maybe not best practise, but not unsafe. However, it will depend on how the isolator is supplied; RCD protection, cable rating, type of fuse or circuit breaker, etc. Best get a local electrician in to take a look.

all irrelevant to the issue at hand. you got a moaning neighbour. solution buy a 2 stroke mower. cut the grass at 06.30 on a sunday morning. result.

Also, buy some Slipknot albums and play them nice and loud.

I used to love in a first floor flat, the neighbour below had a habit of playing rather loud music at silly o clock in the morning. Soon managed to stop him doing it by playing Beastie boys at full blast on loop all day every day for a week while I was out at work from 7 in the morning til 6 at night.

How do you know about these people ? ? ?
These pop groups
What's wrong with a bit of classical music played normally
There's nothing at all wrong with classical stuff but what's more likely to annoy someone you hate, Beethoven's Ode To Joy or The Heretic Anthem by Slipknot?
I've got a lot of classical in my collection but you can't beat a bit of proper metal.

ask them what regulation it is against?

if they moan get an rcd socket and rcd extension lead preferably in pink so it stands out more lol

As shanky suggests, ask them to point out the exact regulation this occasional extension cable contravenes, and guidance (if necessary) on what method of fixing this occasional extension lead to the pavement they suggest!! If nothing else, it'll be interesting as to what they will come up with!! lol!!

are these the neighbours?
