Discuss PIR on a restaurant in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

depends if your getting free access out of hours and how many circuits there are Probably try for OOH and about 30mins per circuit bearing in mind you will probably need to move some equipment

you're not testing the tables! it's the number of circuits ans accesssibility of CU, fittings etc.that determine how long it will take you and how much to charge. in the kitchen you'll find everthing smothered in grease. as a rule of thumb i would charge abut £20 per circuit, minimum £200. time you've done all the paperwork.

i thought i was a bit cheap, but have lost several PIR jobs lately even at £20/circuit. i was pricing on say a 10way board at £200, 5 hours on site testing and 2 hours doing the cert.

Thing is, how low do you go when your giving a professional opinion and taking responsibility for it ?

Hi sorry to interupt this thread.

Ive been asked to do a PIR on a 3phase DB in a garden centre, it's an Merlin Gerin DB with at least 40 Circuits, with high-bay lighting and sockets dotted about everywhere. It also has a Kitchen, outbuildings, Tills, Offices etc.

My question is, I'm a one man band would it be best to leave this one and let the bigger contractors have ago?

No Sorry tonys, Its down south -London Town... Sorry been listening to Dire Straits today.

But do you think it's possible to do this on my own, roughly how long do you think it'll take?

If it will benifit both of us, would you be interested in going in together??

Where in London is it Bill ? and yes you could do it on your own, but your be better off doing it out of hours if you can, just after closing, makes life a lot easier.

Get stuck in and get some help. The big contractors haven't always been big. I bet you can get a good few assistants just from this forum, i wish i was 150 miles nearer.

Cheers..........Howard
