hi could someone please help while doing rcd test my megger does frist test and on second test i keep getting a reading of >4000ms not shore how to sort it all advice appresiated:confused::confused:
 
do you mean it trips on x1 but not on x5?
 
no it doent trip at all had thie problem be fore upped the main earth this sorted out the problem getting the same thing happening not shore if its my testers or not
 
it's either tester, you, or the RCD. test an different RCD if that is OK< it means your tester and your method is ok. i would suspect the rcd. does it trip on the test button? rcd should trip even if the main earth is poor. look at TT system with Ze up to 200ohms or more.
