Doable but I would end up digging up half the garden and there are too many other obstacles to overcome.

When you are next in the high street look around you. You will see many examples of SWA being run in many situations which have probably been there years. It is designed for such an environment.

This is the first time the 25mm conduit has not been laughed at or dismissed, so I ask myself is it ok with the conduit if that too has additional support.

As has been suggested before, battens on the posts then clip the SWA to that.

There's no need for additional mechanical protection for the steel wire ARMOURED cable.

Definitely not. I tried with 6mm a couple of years ago and that was so tight I nearly gave up.

6mm only just goes.

Probably not but if its done in sections it might work, anyway its something I would need to do cos sparky wont. Thanks for all your input Westward. To summarise I think that there is nothing against running in conduit if its possible and providing the conduit is further supported between posts but the conduit is not really necessary, would you say thats about right Westward?

Sharpish shovel could damage the pvc sheath, then the swa could all go rusty.

you can. i've pulled 16mm 3 core in 25mm before now, as long as there's no bends.
