Not sure if it is true , but a past accountant told me that if it was out of the hours worked by the tax man , it was considered to be claimable !? Having said that he is a past accountant for a reason .

Why as self employed do you think you are allowed to claim for food and drink at work otherwise the people who are PAYE would be asking why they cannot claim as well which as far as I know are not allowed to claim .

PAYE: If your employer causes you to be away from home to generate income for them, you would claim expenses form your employer.

If you are working nights it is reasonable to claim £10 a night for food and drink the tax man has never had a problem with it when i have claimed it
