I am stuck on a question for my NVQ just wondering if someone could help,

Question is;
Explain what documentation should be completed following fault recitation work?

I know that "Where minor electrical installation work does not include the provision of a new circuit, a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate, based on the model given in Appendix 6, may be provided for each circuit altered or extended as an alternative to an Electrical Installation Certificate"

If anyone can help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance.

minor works really if its on a final circuit, because you are obviously carrying out the required tests to ensure its safe to be put back into service once you've fixed it...

If you are rectifying a fault on an existing installation then the work cannot be a new circuit or a consumer unit change therefore it will be a modification of an existing circuit, so the documentation required would be a minor electrical installation works certificate. (and Ferg's suggestion!)

Agree with Richard above. I guess the question is quite general, and I suppose some fault rectification might involve more than a MEIWC - for instance, if the nature of the fault meant you had to replace a distribution board, or provide an extra circuit, so you'd have to consider what documentation that would entail.

Alternatively, at the other extreme, a MEIWC might not be necessary. If you're an in-house maintenance electrician, the company you're working for might have its own record-keeping system, which has sufficient information to demonstrate compliance with BS7671 (and more importantly EAWR), but isn't necessarily a MEIWC.

Ferg's answer isn't as daft as it might seem, either... :) I think it's telectrix (apologies if not!) who often says, for very minor jobs like replacing a socket plate or ceiling rose, "Issue invoice, make a note of Zs on it."

If it's a coursework question, the more bases you cover, the better I guess.
