Discuss Trunking cable capacity in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

If running singles in a non metal cable containment system Biff we industrial sparks tend to use the same sized CPCs as phase conductors, 2.5 phase with 2.5 cpc, 6mm2 phase with 6mms cpc etc, hence my comment about a 10mm2 which did have a bit of jest in the post, as for the 4mm2 in a 10mm2 Twin and Cpc, I have always concidered a 4mm2 small in comparison, I would much prefer a 6mm2 cable, I don't like the CPC less than half the size of the phase conductors, unless metal containment is used, it's all wrong IMO, and to add to it, I would like to see the CPC actually sleaved in twin and CPC cables too, it is just lazy and money pinching to have the CPC bare, Now be a good boy and pick the daylights out of that comment

not much of a challenge old bean , as everthing you just said is at complete odds with using the adiabatic to properly size a cpc with regards to evaluating thermal constraints.
and whats with all this "we industrial sparks" bullcrap ? you must think you're the only non domestic spark or something else grand and deluded.

Just trying to get Biff to bite, you have probably ruined it now, and I thought we were in for a Friday night boxing match, ah well were done now, I give in he was right, I will have to start something else going now.

beer + popcorn ready
ding ding round 1.

to add to my first post though, although I was Jesting about the 10mm2, I was serious about the 6mm2, I really don't like CPCs less than half the size of the phase conductors, and do believe Twin and Earth cables should have the earths sleaved not bare, okay lets go round one, put them up :dita:
