Hello. Can anyone tell me how to run an ultra bright, even car headlamp if possible, off a battery source? Battery supply needs to be as small as possible, small enough to fit inside an item about the size of a cigar tube and the bulb needs to be no wider than about 10mm. Any ideas?

A car headlight bulb is 12V so you would be restricted to 12V A23 batteries at that size, they would run a car headlight for about 1 minute before going flat. Even a G4 6W bulb would only last 10 minutes.
I would suggest that buying a pencil torch and dissembling it for parts would be the most effective means of proceeding.
