Just discovered the old wiring for the immersion heater. We have very few sockets in old victorian house. The immersion heater wiring was left in a terminal block wrapped up in masking tape!
I changed the old wylex fuses on the CU to use MCB, thankfully I switched the 16A fuse off for the immersion socket some time ago. Now I have some wiring to play with, I have a couple of questions:
1, Can I use the wire to set up some new sockets. It is likely the sockets won't be used to pull much. Although it depends on below.
2, I haven't measured the size of the cable yet, if it is 2.5mm t&e, what's the width of the cable and would I be able to switch the 16A with 32A at the CU?
3, Do I put it in a junction box and have the cables feed out from this?
Many Thanks
