What tool backpack does the forum recommend?

My first tool bag was my old school sports bag , it actually lasted quite a long time until my padsaw ripped a huge hole in the bottom of the bag and stuff kept falling through the hole

Ha same here! Adidas sports bag. Got nicked with all me tools in it.

I've been using my Facom a lot recently and it's proving to be very good: Facom

I've also used Stanley FatMax in the past which was good but I found the external pockets fell to pieces very quickly.

This thread is very confusing... People are talking about a tool bag in the singular ?? only one ?? Surely that can't be right... I have 4 ! each with different things in for different jobs... and that's just the sparky stuff... I also have separate ones for carpentry, plumbing, tiling and masonry... although admittedly the tiling and masonry ones are just buckets !

i dunno. a trainee with a veto. when i was a trainee it was a tesco carrier bag. ( and that was before they cost a shilling (5p for you wet behind the ears lot)).

Do you mean a bag for life or actually tool bag ?

An actual tool bag. One of the backpack types. Having said that back in the days when I worked for Schneider (spit!) there was one guy who did use a carrier for some of his tools.

For general storage of tools in the van I use 6 DeWalt TStak boxes. For my grab and go kit I use the Stanley Fatmax tool tote. Never really needed a back pack, but you guys have got me thinking I'm missing out on something...
