What’s this extra wire for?

From the picture you can see that there is a brown wire not connected to anything. Does anyone know what that’s for?

At a guess I'd say it has broken off from the live connection to the lampholder.

Ahhh, it’s cause there’s another one but it’s the blue wire this time that’s not connected to anything.

I would suggest you get an electrician to have a look at that mess, it could potentially be a dangerous situation to have those wires hanging loose.
