Well I will make it longer yea I hear what you say about safety but the customer is a Dick because he will spend £400 a year valeting his car but will fight tooth and nail with you wanting you to frig his installation. Me I would advise a full CU replacement and when he says NO WAY say fine and if he gives it HOW MUCH tell him you understand that, and you are looking at the safety implications but understand that he may have other priorities and at the end of the day it is his decision because its not worth the hassle for you.its not the actual cost of the cu thats the issue..The dilemma is that the cust doesnt want to pay to have the inst.
