    Hager Bluetooth AFDD/MCB/RCD Module

Saw this video pop up yesterday, looks like Hager released a double pole single width module for the UK market.

    Forum theme/font size too large

Yes, but the font is huge as standard. Page scaling scales the entire page not just the thread text.

    Forum theme/font size too large

Ctrl+/- scales the entire page, it is just the font in the threads that seems excessive. Is there a way to just change it to the browser default? See attached image

    Forum theme/font size too large

Is there a way to change the font size on this forum? Thread text seems unnecessarily large - Something more like the browser default text would be better

Welder "must be connected to a 30A fused spur"

What on earth are you smoking? The current rating of flex does not depend on the voltage.

    soffit downlighters

Exactly. They are only IP rated for the front face, which to my mind is no more useful than standard fittings as I'd be more concerned with damp/humidity/condensation on the rear of the lamp. Probably the only advantage to using IP65 shower fittings is the lamps aren't held in with the little...

    soffit downlighters

I don't see why ip65 lights would be any better than standard fittings. You're not going to get rain going upwards.

Pikeys and a stolen substation neutral cable = BANG!!!

...AND all the other return paths. Not just the path of least resistance.

Dimming a 2 foot fluorescent tube

Usually not actually. Most are 10%-100%, and 'off'.

Bath and shower with 13amp plugs ????

No. Only a fault downstream can cause it to trip.

Bath and shower with 13amp plugs ????

Technically it should never trip though unless something is wrong in which case you'd need to access under the bath anyway.

    Cat 5 screened data cable

There is no cable shield that will 'absorb' magnetic radiation - this is only possible through distance and high magnetic permeability metal alloys. You can only reduce RF, electrostatic radiation and capacitive coupling effects with traditional shielded cables.

Broken LCD screen on a 40" Sony TV

OLED TV's do not exist yet in the consumer market because of inherent problems with blue OLED dies. Don't get confused by all this LED TV marketing crap that is really an LCD TV with LED backlight

    Broken PEN?

It's not very rare at all. We had it happen at our last house. It only affected us though, so all the metalwork became live rather than high voltages occurring where the broken neutral affects multiple customers. I thought this thread was going to be about a biro...
