The SMA-4000TL-20 was software limited to G83/1 at installation...although as I user a I could change it if I had the gridguard code. My installer took the responsibility to notify the DNO however as it is set at G83/1 my understanding was that all is OK
Thanks for the reply.
Looking at the SMA warranty extension they have two types termed active and comfort the difference allows a chargeback fee of £105 for installation. Is this amount normally enough to cover the cost of swapping the inverter? Would I simply find a local installer and have...
I am lucky to have had nearly 5 years of trouble free generation with my 4KW and SMA 4000TL system.
This came with the standard 5 year invertor warranty and I have the option still to extend this for another 5 years for say £250 approx.
My dilemma is whether to extend or if I have a failure...
Thanks for the replies.
The RECC threat worked - this morning we received a pdf copy of the certificate by e-mail.
Lets hope it never has to be used...:-0)
My system was installed nearly 5 years ago and so far trouble free.
Now as we all know there has been some nasty weather recently in the UK and yesterday
I found a Schuco mounting clip on the patio....eek
I have checked as best I can with some binoculars and all the ajoining panels seem to...
Thanks for the replies....I will try the RECC threat and see what happens.
If the installer is still in business within the next 10 years then that would always be my first point of contact.
Having the 10 year warranty paperwork with the manufacturer will give some additional assurance should...
Some background.
Purchased a 4kw system Sept 2015 installed and FIT registered by month end.
System comprises 16 x 250W Phono Solar Black panels and Solis 3600TL inverter.
Installation was troublefree and all working just fine.
During the negotiations it was agreed in writing that the inverter...
I think they have a problem with the site at the moment.

I havent had a single issue with them in nearly 5 years!
Hopefully that will give you some confidence and the issue will be resolved quickly.
Hello
Havent posted for a long time but here we go......
I have had a system for around 4 years now but my son has justed got his own roof so to speak and wishes to purchase a system. He has a current EPC for the property having just purchased and is directly facing South at the front of the...
Just to get this in perspective can you suggest a better investment than PV at the moment?
You and I both made a "killing" investing early thats great- but everything is still relative to what can be achieved now.
Just means its not quite as good as it was a few years ago -but then again ISA's...
I have looked through the thread and am surprised that there are folk who dont think PV is still worth the investment.
I purchased a 4kw system in mid 2011 so was fortunate to get in at the higher FIT rate but probably paid double than current market prices for my system at that time.
System...
I think they are shipping the 4000TL-21 now which may be slightly improved.
Make sure you get it installed with the latest 3.20 firmware as there are a few annoying
reporting bugs in sunny explorer (inverter doesnt know that sometimes there are more or less than 30 days in a month :-)
Based on your original post I would cast my vote for the 4000TL as you shouldnt imho design your system to limit your output to the max 3.6KW.
I purchased a 4KW system last June and the various software packages predicted an annual output of around 3000KWh/pa
I have a more or less East facing...
I would say that 26kw in a day is very good and I guess you are well located
We are entering the best time of year from now to the summer solstice -the enemy is heat so July/Aug/Sept will drop off.
So a bright cool windy spring with showers can be really good for generation!
I will have a...
Looking at both tables of results the majority of the panels are all within +/- 3% of each other which in most cases is the manufacturing tolerances
If you look at the disclaimer at the bottom of the linked report it states:
Neither PTC nor STC account for all “real-world” losses. Actual solar...
