    Depends how many fittings and location etc, base it on a minimum of 3.5hrs if doing 3hr run test. Remember you are only testing them not putting any defects right.

    Insulation Resistance query

    Did you soft test this sky box or just fry it? (live and neutral of the circuit together to earth) If you were testing live to earth you would get a reading if testing normally thro the neutral. Been to numerous domestic call outs where kettle has been the culprit........ not being faulty...

    a neutral to the switch if the switch isn't double pole, but he says he cant find it in the regs....is he reply was in reference to the above for extra toilet reading chapter 53 of the regs, 537.1.2, 537.1.4,537.2.1.1,537.2.2.1 530.3.2 neutral should not be independently switched or fused!

    Terminate in a block! Not a problem............. easier than having a mass of them behind your light fitting. Think matey is getting confused with unswitched fcu's

    Other thing to check is where you have connected the outbuilding neutral to, is it on the same bar as the shower or a different one. You could also disconnect at the outbuilding incoming neutral and earth switch off and see if you still get problems.

    I agree with T&E, Seperate the 2 supplies garage and shower Soft test the shower with the shower in the on position ( live,neutral & cpc disconnected at the consumer unit........then ir test at the CU with nuetral and live connected together in one clip between the cpc on the other) Try that...
