thanks, you encouraged me to research hi current test currents for megger MFT’s. Turns out they can put out up to 20A so there is a risk unless I ramp the VIGI up to 30A for the duration of the test.
Thanks, most of the above makes sense to be honest - you do in fact get away with it on TT majority of time in like you say.
However why doesn’t the RCBO trip ahead of the time delayed?
Any suggestions as to possible causes of RCD tripping in the below domestic scenario would be helpful:
Origin:
single phase TT supply into an external cabinet housing cutout and our installed 100A 100mA Type S 2Pole RCD. Earth Rod has also been sunk here.
House:
3c SWA supply to house from...
Gonna potentially be flamingos and other similar birds - lighting would be within a 2m height of the solid ground/water sections.

A wildlife hut which is semi open to the elements. Half of hut is solid ground the other half vaguely described as a pool, pond or collection of water (through...
Thanks for the reply.
Things have developed further since this morning - when I took a Zs at the DB with the supplementary Rod connection disconnected leaving me just PME I achieved a Zs of well over 2 ohms on a B63 MCB with no associated RCD!!
Am I right in saying if I isolate the source...
