Sorry still don't understand what you mean. The earthing will be be 6mm from existing consumer unit to new consumer unit then 6mm from new consumer unit to the earth rod. That way its earthed when there is a supply from the grid and earthed via an earth rod if the grid is completely lost. Grid...
Not sure what you mean. I need to provide an earth which I am doing using an earth rod and the house is TNCS. I don't think I can switch the Earths as part of the change over switch so the TNCS will be connected to the earth rod as well. The generator will be a small 2kw portable type.
it would flow down the neutral after the break into my customers house at which point the neutral and earth are linked together, then to the existing C/U then to the CPC of the ring which is linked to the earth rod.
Hope that make sense !
My customer wants to have one ring main connected via a change over switch to a generator.
Earthing is TNCS
My idea was is move the ring main to a new consumer unit run a 6mm T&E to the change over switch from the 32 amp mcb in the main C/U where the ring main was. Then a 6mm T&E back from...
I have been out to look at a system that is generating less than expected.
It has 21 x 190 watt Suntech modules. 9 on one string and 12 on the other.
The irradiance at the time of the test was 800 watts
Open circuit voltage was String 1 304 Volts and 4.47 Amps String 2 419 Volts and 4.49...
I received a call from a person who was not a customer of mine asking to connect up his 8 kW PV system.
Its a new build and the modules were installed when the scaffolding was up, this was several months ago.
System is 2 x ABB PVI 3.6-TL-OUTD inverters connected to 32 x 250 watt modules. The...
I'm planning to install 4 50 watt LED flood lights and three PIR's the idea is to link the switched output of the PIRs so if one is activated all of the lights come on. I also plan to link the switched output to a wall switch so that the customer can turn them all on manually.
It is possible...
I've just installed the modules on a new build, it will be some weeks away before I can install the inverter and commission the system.
How does it work with regard to the EPC. Do I leave the system switched off and the builder ask the energy assessor to issue the EPC for the building and...
My interpretation is if installed after the PV has been installed and commissioned then it should be 20 %
If installed at the same time then possibly 5 % but its not clear cut. If you look at the VAT guide for reduced VAT it does not show battery systems in the list of products. I wrote to...
