    RCD Tripping times question

    A few 30mA RCBO's that i have tested recently are tripping lower at x1 than they are at x5, e.g 13.1 x1 13.8 x5, I know both these results comply but im curious does any one know why the 1 times trip is lower than 5?

    Tripping times for a 100mA RCD?

    Could anyone confirm if we test 100mA RCD's at x5? There is a lot of information on the web that says you only test at x1 but Table 3a in appendix 3 clearly shows a max disconnection time for a 100mA RCD at x5 to be 40ms. Thanks all.

    Rcbo's tripping times

    I am testing a new build installation of 90 flats all the flats have 1 16a Rcbo when I test the tripping times I get a higher reading at 5x than 1x on all 90 flats they r all wylex can anyone help me on this matter

    rcd tripping times

    just a quick one doing some rcd tests today, and at x1 value the tripping time was 46mseconds and at x5 29mseconds now i no that as long as at x5 value is under 40mseconds all is ok just thought the x1 value was a bit high so my question is there a max value for times 1 as i must admit not had...

    I understand that when carrying out RCD testing an RCD should trip within 300ms at 1x and 40ms at 5x but is it common that on occasions for the RCD to trip quicker at 1x than 5x. I never had it occur personally. I am just looking at some old certs and on some circuits the RCD is tripping...

    Hi all help please,I tested a6 amp rcbo30ma at board with out load connected the rcd results are 310ms at times 1 and 50ms at times5 so I changed it thinking it was faulty tested new 1I fitted got same results I then rcd tested another rcbo in the board another lighting circuit results are fine...

    RCD tripping times, 0.4 or <200 etc.....

    I always been told that an 30m/A RCD should trip within 200m/s (x1) and 40m/s (x5). But something iv never taken much notice of before is on test sheet the maximum disconnection time of a circuit less than 32A is 0.4. So....which is it? within 0.4 or within 200m/s????

    Does anyone know what the tripping times for an Wylex bs 4293 100ma type s RCD are? Ive been searching the net and just keep getting more and more confused about this i know an bs6009/9 should trip within 130ms-500ms but cant make headway for the tripping times for an older bs4293 rcd.

    What tripping time should I expect to be acceptable when doing a ramp test on both 30ma and 100ma rcds. I mean is 70ma tripping time on a 100ma rcd too sensitive?

    MEM RCD Tripping Times

    Hi. Should the x1 and x5 RCD tripping time test results for the MEM AM1004M RCD 100A 100mA still be as usual? 0.4s etc... Also if doing a ramp test that should trip in? Finally, as I think the one I tested is faulty, any ideas where I could get another from? Thanks.
