Discuss Adding in a D/P isolator BEFORE meter ???/ in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net
That was my first thought too! The fuse IS the isolator in this scenario, subject of course to suitability, safety, degradation etc etc. Really need to see what we're dealing with here, but would have thought that if you've the space to install an isolator in between the intake and the meter then just move the meter to where the gap is, install the isolator where the meter moved from?? Naturally.... none of this can be done by you without express permission of both the DNO and Energy supplier........You’re going to have to pull the fuse to add an isolator?
Or if supplier is pulling fuse for you, then get them to move the meter… (which will be a simple enough job in itself)
