I have been asked to install 2 spots that will be built into a flyover between 2 wall units and above the sink inside a bathroom. Presently they have a 4 way fuse board and not keen on upgrading. There will be a cable drop of 300mm from ceiling to top of the unit.
Is there a way in which no RCD will be required. I'm thinkining if the cable is protected and
fit 12v IP rated lights it will be a case of minor works and notify. Or not?

Chase in some steel conduit and earth it. Then fit your selv lights.. You will still need to notify as its a special location.
