Hi Everyone.
I am just not sure about how it works. I am full time employed by caravan park company as an maintenance electrician. I need to test and certify all the caravan everytime I connect or move to another pitch. But I am not register to self certification scheme yet. I have applied for self certification scheme with elecsa and booked for assessment but i got to find some notifiable work to show him on the day. Running a new circuit to decking light in caravan, will it be notifiable job or not? I am sure if it is domestic would be but not sure in mobile home. and other thing I am not doing any work outside the caravan park as electrical contractor. so do I need to be register in self certification scheme? please anyone can clarify me/

If it is a caravan park then they are temporary mobile accommodation and not dwellings, if they are mobile homes then they are dwellings and work in them in accordance with Part P is notifiable.
A new circuit for decking lights on a mobile home would be notifiable work.
However this is only my opinion and it would be best to call Elecsa and ask whether the work you are doing is notifiable work, before you need to register, because there is no point in registering if you do not do any notifiable work.

Caravans and caravan sites are special locations in the regs so it will follow that any work here is definately notifiable. You don't need any formal qualifications to do this work you merely need to be competent. This comes with experience as well as knowledge so, as mentioned, just demonstrate your competence and that will be OK.

There may be concerns regarding any previous work done in these special locations that has not been notified to LABC?
