hey guys. Right im moving house and the buyers want a test certificate! im a 10 year qualified approved electrician who tests at work on a regular basis also with my 17th edition and test kit. does anybody know where i stand as to do a periodic on my own property with regards to part p??? :dizzy2:

Part P doesn't come into it. You just have to be competent. Now if you want to undertake the remedials and there are then BC issues, that's a different matter

ahh, so doing periodic for a domestic dwelling on a general testing certificate is fine as long as im competent? is this defo the case mate as i dont want any come backs of anybody. cheers.
:behead:

The only think you might come up against is the buyer questioning the "independence" of said report - doctors don't treat their own families!

cant see why not, this situation is just waiting to be taken to court where the whole part p scam will be deemed illegal and got rid of..

Part P does not cover inspection and testing, it only covers installation work.
In some instances, Local Councils, or insurance companies will insist that the report is conducted by someone registered with a proffesional body such as the NICEIC, NAPIT, etc.
However there is no legal requirement for anyone to be registered.

as spin has just so eloquently put it. you're good to go.
