Discuss Contactor to DOL starter & switches in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I have a DOL starter (https://docs.rs-online.com/c08c/0900766b81586106.pdf for reference) that I want to connect to my ac motor. I understand that the dol starter has a built-in contactor. I want to connect two other switches, a tilt and a proximity switch. Is it possible to connect these two switches to this DOL? If not how would I go about this?
This video should help, form 15;00 mark onwards

Simply put a start device can be on parallel with existing, a stop device MUST go in series.

You just need to check if these additional switcheswpuld be Normally Closed (NC) or Normally Open (NO) in operation - If they're devices to interrupt operation they will likely be NC in operation (Opening if tilt or person proximity is detected or (in the case of a deadman style proximity - closing in the presence of a person and opening (stopping) if the person walks away)

What voltage is the contactor coil?
What voltage are the contacts in your external detectors / controls rated for?
Is there any machine safety functionality related to these controls and if so, what do your risk assessment and IEC 60204 (amongst others) say about that?

Think hes looking to add it to the stop starter he shared link of.. go on that one lucien, I dont think can be done with that switch on it's own, you need more contactors planted .

As lucien points out here we would need a lot of info before we could advise crucially the function of the motor and the underlying reasons for fitting the stop circuit limits.

Your profile suggests you are not qualified in the electrical industry so as a forum we have to be careful that any advice given reflects such, we may indeed be able to give guidance and help here but it does come down to what you are attempting to do, why and on what.
