Been informed my core domestic electrical installation cert is now not valid for me to be insured for EICR certification even though I have a 2391 certificate
Anyone encountered this?

New one for me, 2391 is THE inspection and testing qualification.

Which 2391 have you got?
50 is inital only
51 is periodic only
52 is both

Good question.
Have a list of items and will forward on Tuesday if ok.
Cannot remember just yet but it was so complex even Napit could not describe in any sense.
In transit through Spain at pres so will reply when I get home.

Yep.
Napit now demands I attend a 2346 gold card course (cost £1500)
Also take am2e assesment not sure of cost.
Getting fed up with them as everytime I reach a level they then mention another required course
Time to sue I reckon

NAPIT might be able to specify who can do EICRs under their scheme, on their certificate, but they have no power outside of that.

Likewise with NICEIC.

If you are competent there is nothing stopping you carrying out EICRs on standard non-branded certificates, or indeed getting Professional Indemnity insurance from an insurance company.
